Eyes Above the Waves {Music Monday}

I’ve been wanting to write about some things I’ve discovered about my faith over the last year. Friends, I can’t seem to get the words out when I find the time to sit down and type them out. I’m not sure why…

But I got a bit of it out in this post for 5 Minutes for Faith. I’d love to have you stop by as I also share a song I’ve been clinging to as of late this Music Monday. Simply click on the button below!

Here are some of the questions I pose as I compare my faith to the waves…like Peter, but they stem from one line in the song I share:

  • Can I keep my eyes fixed on my Savior?
  • Could I trust Him with my necessities and focus more on Him than the waves approaching?
  • Is my faith strong enough to survive the waves? Even if I don’t know when my next breath will come?

Stop on by and share with me how you trust Him through the waves of life. I’d love to hear.

Thanks for sharing your time with me.

Nikki

And you must love the Lord your God
with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
Deuteronomy 6:5

My six year-old gave me a new perspective on this verse recently. One that was so simple I almost negated it at first. Can you believe I’m still doing that?

Friends, there’s a reason Jesus invites us to come to Him like little children…

I’m sharing about it over at my 2nd home today. I’d love to see you over there. Just click on the picture above or the button below!

And to my loyal readers: I’m still trying to finish sharing with you the lessons I’ve learned recently. Thank you so much for sticking by me, encouraging me along the way! {HUGS}

Hosanna! {Now and Forevermore}

palm branches

He came as predicted. (Matthew 21:4-5)

And still they did not see. For their hopes were not set high enough. Wrapped tightly in political bondage, they were simply asking for a new leader. One to overthrow the Romans.

So when they shouted “Hosanna,” they were taking it literally. “Save us now.” Now. From the Romans. Not from forever. Not the world. Just us from the now.

But God knew.

God saw their need. And He promised to fulfill it.

Through Jesus.

Friends, Jesus took ‘Hosanna’ to a whole new level.

I’m sharing more about it this over at my 2nd home: 5 Minutes for Faith. Won’t you join me? Simply click on the button below!

The time is coming…Can you feel it?I hope to see you over there so I can hear how you are preparing…

Thanks for sharing your time with me.

Lent on Purpose {and The Mystery of Grace}

GRACE

Have you ever tried to explain grace to a 5 year-old?

Has a five year-old ever taught you a thing or two about grace?

Have you ever considered if grace could exist without love?

These are some things I’m pondering over at 5 Minutes for Faith today as I contemplate this Lenten season. I’d love to have you join in the conversation. Simply click the button below!

And friends, I still haven’t forgotten this place and my utter desire to update all of you. Thank you for your patience as I try to find my new groove and figure out where blogging (and the time it takes) fits. I am determined to make room somewhere…soon.

For now, will you join me over at 5 Minutes for Faith? I’d love to see you there…

Thanks for sharing your time with me.

The Gift of Sacrifice {Thanksliving}

Give Thanks

Thou that has given so much to me,
Give one thing more — a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleases me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days;
But such a heart, whose pulse may be Thy praise.
~George Herbert

For the month of November, we at 5 Minutes for Faith will be spending time each day Thanksliving. That’s what I call it, anyway. Where we take the time to list our praise. Our thanks. Our admissions that we would be nothing without Him.

And it’s my turn today!

Won’t you stop by and share with me what you’re thankful for today? Let’s offer a sacrifice of praise together! Simply click on the button below:

But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me.
      If you keep to my path,
      I will reveal to you the salvation of God.
Psalm 50:23 NLT

Always a Reason to Sing {Carefree in the Care of God}

Consider the Birds

Have you ever had the experience of scripture (one you’ve read a thousand times) jump off the page as if you’re reading it for the first time? I did recently…just a phrase I can’t get out of my head — and realize I need desperately.

No wonder they call His Word living…it breathes new life into our gasping souls. It penetrates our dry bones and percolates within…

Friends, I’m sharing my recent experience with this over at 5 Minutes for Faith today. Would love to share it with you. Won’t you stop by? Simply click on the button below!

And for those who don’t have time, I’ll share the verses I mention here for you to chew on:

He continued this subject with His disciples. “Don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or if the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your inner life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the ravens, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, carefree in the care of God. And you count far more.
Luke 12:22-24 The Message

I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve read this passage in numerous translations. It was the last portion this time that stopped me in my tracks, as if I was reading it for the first time.

The ravens, free and unfettered…carefree in the care of God.

Friends, I think I’m finally getting it. And would love to have you stop by and share your thoughts with me, too!

Thanks for sharing your time with me.

He Sees You {A Simple Truth Unveiled}

swimduci

Friends, have you ever known something so obvious, you find yourself ignoring the significance of it? Perhaps you’ve heard it so many times, it tends to run off your skin instead of sink in?

I have.

In my recent quest of truly pursuing Him. Striving to see Him in my everyday…truths I’ve known for decades are coming alive for me. All simple and yet so life altering.

I’m sharing one today. Over at my 2nd home: 5 Minutes for Faith. You can obviously tell by the title of this post what truth it is, but I would be honored if you would follow me there and read my heart anyway. Maybe you need a simple reminder, too…
