Together ~ Five Minute Friday

It’s that time of week!
Where I join others at The Gypsy Mama‘s
to share what we can express in 5 minutes time
when given a word prompt.
We don’t edit or backtrack these posts
So grace is entirely welcome while you
read my heart when prompted with:

___TOGETHER___

Who knows how many times I’ve said it. It doesn’t matter, for with each time, the words hold more meaning.

“I don’t care what we do, as long as we’re together.”

My hubby gives me that crooked smile, the one confirming I said exactly what he anticipated. And I smile back while squeezing his hand, knowing full well he prefers it that way. No surprises.

Who knows how many times I’ve said it. It doesn’t matter, for with each time, the words hold more meaning.

“Thank You, Father, for placing us together.”

For where I lack, he thrives. When I doubt, he patiently reminds. When I feel lost, he shows me who to turn to.

We are each simply striving. Apart, we do some fine work. But together…we know we’re going to make it. We’re going to walk each other home.

From Adam, God knew. He knew we were good, but could be better. He knows souls thrive when shared with another. He knows when 2 or more are together, mountains turn to mole-hills.

Who knows how many times I’ve said it. It doesn’t matter, for with each time, the words hold more meaning.

“My Savior, here’s my heart. Take it.
You hold onto it so I know…
where my heart is, there we will be. Together.”

STOP.

  1. It’s neat to see how many are writing on marriages – when there seems to be so many that do not stay together. Beautifully written! And I too like doing things together with my DH just so we have that time alone.

I’ve said this same thing so many times! I guess you could bet that my “love language” is quality time. πŸ™‚ As long as we’re together, that’s all that matters. Truly, it is.

I know I said it before, but Happy Anniversary, friend. May your week, and your year, continue to be blessed as you continue this beautiful journey together.

    • I love that your love language is quality time πŸ™‚ it is the greatest blessing they can give us, isn’t it. Time to be with us, look at our souls, share our hearts….

  9. Congratulations on 13 years!! My husband and I will be celebrating 15 in May. It is a rare blessing to have this kind of relationship, even in a marriage, sadly. I find a similar thing in my marriage, we complement each other really well and it is so perfectly orchestrated that it can only be God that has graced our marriage with it.
